My first trip north of the arctic circle was in October, just when the last of the summer light is noticeably disappearing on a daily basis. It was enough to see how stunning and pristine this environment was before it went dark for 4 months. But when the light came back in February it was adventure time. We filmed in the town but also travelled for miles by snow mobile in search of different stories with our brilliant contributors. I was absolutely blown away by the place, and the science and nature stories that are going on in this most fragile of environments. I wonder how much longer it will be like this. Thanks to everyone in Svalbard and the crew for making such a long shoot so extraordinarily epic!
